So I have to ask myself, “Do I really believe all this, THE SKY IS FALLING, nonsense? I’ve never been part of the “upper income” class, hell; I haven’t even achieved middle income, so far as I can tell. OK, gas costs a lot more. Call me a Pauliana but the way I see it, this housing collapse and high gas prices are a blessing in disguise. I remember way back when, telling a certain person, (who we will call, “the Jerk”,) even the poor in this country are wealthy when compared to the rest of the worlds population. No, I don’t believe in keeping up with the Joneses. Sure things are tough. I look at it this way, do I have enough food to eat, or access to it? Yes. Do I have a roof over my head? Yes. Do I have an income or the means to create an income? Yes. Can I still walk, see, breath, use my hands? Yes. Then I’m ahead of the game as far as I see it. Nope, can’t buy a new car. Hell, as of today I can’t even buy a new pair of jeans. But that’s OK. At least I have a car and jeans to wear, and shoes, and all my teeth. Life ain’t so bad.
And what is all this bashing of the political candidates? Really, does it have to get sooooo nasty? The old white haired dude, well what can I say. He seems like a nice enough guy, just a bit out of touch. The Black guy, oh, oh, African American guy, no, no, the mixed guy, yah, the mixed guy. Well, he is a politician, gotta keep that in mind. One of them is going to end up being our next figure head. That doesn’t mean GOD. I gotta state for the record, it more than disturbs me, all this disguised and not so disguised racist crap. Really people, get over it! People are people. We all have the same needs and dreams. It makes no matter your race, sex,, religion, party affiliation, nationality etc. ………….. Hell, I understood that at the age of three. It isn’t rocket science. If any one tells you any different they are plane fools .There is an old southern vernacular that describes my sentiments on those narrow minds, Bless Their Hearts!
Anyway, the politicians aren’t going to take care of us. We have to take care of us and each other. Now I don’t think I’m an old geezer yet, but I do recall some lessons from my elders, Lessons that some of us forgot and more of us never quite learned. Like, take care of what you have, your car, your home, your family, your stuff. Grow your own food or some of it. It’s less expensive, tastes better, and you know where it’s been. Mend your clothes, sew on new buttons, and fix the seams. Buy quality, it lasts longer. Save for what you want. Then you know you really want it and it belongs to you, not the credit card company.
You want this nation to be great again? Make it great. Turn off your M/F-ing T.V. and read a book, talk to your family, dig up your front yard and plant a victory/self reliance garden, paint, dance, sing, pray, have a conversation with whatever form of the divine as you see fit, go for a walk, say hello to your neighbors, (I’ll bet they don’t bite.), take your poor dog for a walk. Try it for a week, I bet you will feel better.
Stop being so afraid of “THE TERRORIST.” If we take care of our own and stay out of others business we won’t have to be afraid of others. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Can’t remember who said that but it still makes sense.
OK, I’m done with my rant. I hope all have a good day.
